31-year-old in custody : Bonn man hits girlfriend with iron chain

BONN According to police, a 31-year-old man attacked his girlfriend with an iron chain on Saturday in the Castell district of Bonn. The man is currently in custody.

A 31-year-old man hit his girlfriend with an iron chain in Bonn-Castell on Saturday. Police said the 26-year-old woman suffered injuries to her upper body. When police arrived at the apartment of the woman, who did not live with her boyfriend, the 31-year-old was no longer there. Officers from the Bonn city police station were able to arrest the man a short time later at 11am close to the apartment.

According to police, the 31-year-old was under the influence of alcohol. A test showed a blood-alcohol level of 1.4. Following an application by the Bonn public prosecutor’s office, a judge issued an arrest warrant against the 31-year-old who is also said to have appeared for similar crimes in the past. The 31-year-old is now in custody.
