Festival atmosphere is all around for the weekend at the Panama Open Air. The weekend will also get sporty with bike tours through the region, sports in the park, the German Darts Masters and foot golf. There is also something for cinema lovers. Here are our tips for the weekend.

Freitag, 12. Juli

Panama Open Air with Camping

On the second weekend of July many stars of the electro scene will come to Bonn. More than 25,000 visitors are expected at the Panama Open Air Festival in Bonn's Rheinaue on 12 and 13 July.60 artists will be on stage for two days, spread around the flower meadow in the Rheinaue. In addition to the electro stars Kölsch, Stephan Bodzin, Boris Brejcha and Nicky Romero is the Marteria-Alter Ego Marsimoto sound system. Among the well-known DJs performing are the Berlin duo Format:B as well as Oliver Schories, Booka Shade, Roosevelt, Andhim, Jan Blomquvist and Victor Ruiz.

Tickets: The regular weekend ticket costs 77.90 Euro and is available online at www.bonnticket.de (Friday and Saturday) and at sales points in GA branches. Anyone wishing to camp in the Rheinaue will have to pay an additional fee of eleven Euro. Single tickets for Friday and Saturday cost 45.20 Euro and 55.90 Euro respectively.

Divas: Travesty revue with real guys

Real guys between feathers and rhinestones, sequins and powder can currently be seen in the Malentes Theater Palast in Bad Godesberg. The show celebrated its premiere in the middle of May, with the last performance the "Divas" on stage this weekend on 14 July. Last chance, so go and see it!

Sport im Park

If Bonn has a sporting export hit, then it's "Sport im Park". So if you want to get off to a sporting start at the weekend, you can sweat to your heart's content at Yoga, Original Bootcamp, Functional Fitness or Running Training and leave the working week behind you. Offers are available on Friday at several locations in Bonn City, Duisdorf and Bad Godesberg.

Costs: The participation is free of charge, only in the Römerbad the regular bath entrance fee is to be paid.

German Darts Masters

The Darts elite will be coming to Cologne for the first time this weekend with the "World Series of Darts - German Masters 2019". In Michael van Gerwen (Netherlands), three-time world champion and world number one, 2018 world champion Rob Cross (England) and two-time champion Gary Anderson (Scotland) the stars of the scene will be at the start in Cologne's Lanxess Arena.

French Film Days Bonn

From 3 to 17 July, the French Film Days will present 14 new French films and a classic at the Neue Filmbühne in Beuel. Visitors can rate the individual screenings with voting cards. The audience prize will be awarded at the end.

Grand City Tour with the GA Convertible Bus

Almost everyone in Bonn has seen it before, and it is a real magnet for tourists: The convertible bus for city tours, adorned with a striking advertisement for the General-Anzeiger. Under the theme "Bonn yesterday, today, tomorrow", the historical origins of the city and post-war developments will be highlighted, as well as exciting perspectives on the federal city after structural change. This year, by the way, the bus is going on tour for the last time - the municipal utilities are withdrawing from the project. So anyone who wants to explore Bonn once more on the panorama deck of the blue-red painted vehicle should strike now. But don't worry: Bonn-Informationseeks a new service provider by 2020.

Foot(ball) golf at Gut Heiderhof

On the 60,000 square kilometre foot golf course at Gut Heiderhof, the Saturday afternoon can beenjoyed on 18 holes with different obstacles and degrees of difficulty. Refrigerated drinks are also available. As an alternative to foot golf, you can of course also head for one of the more than 40 football fields in Bonn.

MS Science - The Floating Science Center

The exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft invites the visitors with an interactive exhibition on the topic "Artificial Intelligence" to try out, participate and research.

"Very British" exhibition at the Haus der Geschichte

While Great Britain is preparing for Brexit, the new exhibition "Very British" in the Haus der Geschichte shows the original ball from the 1966 World Cup final in Wembley, the original tiger skin from "Dinner for One" and much more. The temporary exhibition starts withBrexit and then works chronologically and thematically from a German perspective through years and decades, along stereotypes and irritations, past great emotional moments that repeatedly deeply touched the Germans (Royals), amused ("Dinner for One") or even upset us (Wembley).

Goethe's Gardens on the Roof of the Bundeskunsthalle

High above the Bundesviertel, the Bundeskunsthalle and the Klassik Stiftung Weimar have created two gardens based on Goethe's model. The "Goethe's Gardens - Green Worlds on the Roof of the Federal Art Hall" complex is part of a large Goethe exhibition that opened in the building in May.

Guided bike tours in Bonn and surroundings

At the weekend, the ADFC invitespeople to cycle through the region again. The tour starts on Friday with the evening tour through the Siebengebirge. On Saturday you cycle along the Rhine to Rhöndorf, where the Adenauer Museum and House will be visited. On Sunday you will pass through the Königsforst and the Wahner Heide.

  • Friday, 5 pm at the Rhine bank ferry dock in Niederdollendorf ("after work tour through the Siebengebirge"; 40 km)
  • Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm at the Fronhof in Swisttal-Heimerzheim; alternative meeting point at 11 a.m. by the Mondorf ferry ("Rhöndorf - Adenauer-Haus"; 60 km and 30 km respectively)
  • Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm at Fischerplatz, Hippolytusstr. 24, in Troisdorf ("Big round through the Königsforst forest"; 54 km)

Maze in the Rheinaue in Bonn

In the Rheinaue in Bonn, adventurers can try their hand at the largest mobile maze. Since 11 May, the 1800 square metre maze has already been standing in the Rheinaue. If you find your way through the maze, you will reach an observation tower. The fun is also worth visiting more often: the paths are changed regularly and the degree of difficulty also varies.

„Apollo 11“ in the Kinopolis

Half a century after man's craziest space mission, a documentary traces the moon landing in 1969. Director Todd Douglas Miller's documentary film relies on original NASA footage that has never before been shown, digitally processed and optimized for the big screen. In Bonn, the Film is shown only once - in the original with subtitles.
